I’ve always been fascinated by the challenges people overcome to just be accepted by others. We can often look at history and see the injustices of our past. Yet, in the present we can easily fall victim to perpetuating, at best, or actively imposing, at worst, harmful and arbitrary norms that constrain society.
As we await more acceptance and compassion from ourselves and others, we all go to varying lengths to hide aspects of ourselves for fear of ostracization. Veiled seeks to combine my creative and technical interests to provide an outlet for those wanting to be seen, heard, and understood in a safe, visually evocative, and thought provoking manner.

The process of incrementally writing code that moves from empty pixels towards my imaginings can be quite challenging at times. However, once an algorithm has been created there are variables that can be obtained or modulated from data acquired from various inputs to create unique outputs. For example, photographs have a lot of data most obviously, color data, that can be feed into an algorithm. Similarly, frequencies and amplitude values can be extracted from audio files to define various characteristics that can influence the final output.
